Beware

Contacted Ian a month ago for a small utility room ceiling repair and told him I usually go for family run businesses due to the unreliability of local trades people in Auchterarder. He assured me, as they were a family run business of long standing I would find them very reliable. Wrong! He consistantly failed to return phone calls, texts and emails following his initial visit - with excuses such as he had already sent emails when he clearly hadn't and even the classic "my dog died last yesterday". I had to contantly chase him up for a quote. After he quoted for the full ceiling to be plastered I challenged him as to why just the damaged half couldn't be done. He said as I was the customer that could happen. After yet more chasing to secure a quote for that and secure a start date he then told me he wouldn't do half - it would have to be the full ceiling. Basically he lied. Yet I still accepted this and asked for a start date to which, following a month of excuses and lies, he said they were really busy and it could take a while! Wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole - be warned! I contacted another company, from Glasgow, some 40 miles away (Crieff is 10 miles) and the job was done within the week.
